The Stigmata

To fully understand what I am communicating here, you must read the entire article. Otherwise, you will almost surely miss it. Scripture supports true "Stigmata", and states affirmatively that the Apostle Paul bore "Stigmata". However, scripture may not support what I have coined as "Site Bleeding". You may ask, "What is the difference?" Read on!

In June, 1955, I was taken to a series of old fashion tent revival meetings being held by renowned Pentecostal Evangelist Jack Coe. That was the first time I had witnessed such a demonstration of the Spirit of God and power. I remember those meetings as if they happened only last night. Though only four years old, I was Born Again in one of those services, and I’ve believed in the Lord Jesus Christ ever since.

Some time soon after those meetings ended, Stigmata appeared on my body. At least that's the earliest I remember noticing it. My birth certificate confirms I wasn’t born with it. The Stigmata remains to this day. Someday, I'd like to procure forensic authentication, or at least a physician's affidavit.

Only a fool would claim something like this if it were not true, when a simple visual inspection could easily prove it false.

It is understandable that some may think the Stigmata is just an anomaly. That's alright, I'm not trying to prove anything, I'm just reporting according to the Lord's directive. But when one considers all the other supernatural occurences and photographs, that makes the anomaly theory unlikely. Then consider the 100% accurate prophetic words given with something  in the neighborhood of 1.5 billion to 1 odds of them all being fulfilled in my lifetime. What televangelist can truthfully make that claim?

For those who may not know, Stigmata are scars resulting from being pierced. In Biblical times it was used much like branding cattle is used today. Also, Roman warriors who had attained elite military status were permitted to bear certain Stigmata. Today, U.S. Special Forces and elite special ops team members may bear tattoos or other physical marks designating their team affiliation and warrior class status. Also, first century slaves and outcasts involuntarily bore Stigmata. And as such, it was intended to serve as "Legal Notice" that the one bearing the Stigmata was the property of the owner of that mark. So as context may infer they belong to a proven elite warrior class; a slave, or an outcast; or some combination thereof.

It is only referenced in the New Testament by the Apostle Paul. In Galatians 6:17 he wrote, "...I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus…"The word translated "...marks…." is the Greek word "Stigmata". That word connotes piercing, such as how Christ was pierced. When Paul wrote of his Stigmata, he was not merely writing in sighing exasperation. He was not pleading for everyone to "give him a break" so to speak; as many suppose. Rather he was warning his critics that he was a proven elite warrior of Christ Jesus, and all that the Stigmata credentials inferred. Paul was flexing supernatural muscle, flashing his special ops "Ranger Tab" if you will, his espirit de corps, a sort of escutcheon in Jesus Christ. Perhaps the Lord will allow me to exposit this subject soon.

Let me be clear, some mistakenly confuse "Stigmata" with what I call "Site Bleeding". Site Bleeding is an extraordinary phenomenon where spontaneous bleeding manifests in a human body at sites comparable to where Jesus was wounded. True Biblical Stigmata appears to be different. It is an intentional scar made by piercing one's body in order to mark them, much like a cattle brand. While Site Bleeding is an extraordinary phenomenon, I do not find it referenced anywhere in scripture. But I do find Stigmata in scripture, born by the Apostle Paul. There is no evidence that Paul's Stigmata ever bled, and neither has mine ever produced a drop of blood. Had Paul's Stigmata produced blood, I believe he would have mentioned that. The Greek Text only references a scar, and with only one Greek word, "Stigmata"; and no mention of blood.

Growing up as a little Pentecostal boy, an in the so-called "Message Churches", I witnessed many supernatural phenomena such as oil spontaneously appearing on people's hands, as well as what I call "Site Bleeding". While none of the churches I ever attended would have tolerated any form of idolatry, I heard stories of some Pentecostal groups actually anointing people with these appearances of oil and of what appeared to be blood. No one should be in ministry who has no more discernment than to allow idolatrous practices in their meetings. Remember, there is only one man's blood that matters regarding the redemptive promises of God, and His name is Jesus! He is the Christ of God, and He is the Lord of all! His blood has already been shed and applied once for all! No other blood matters to true believers!

If the Stigmata on my body had ever produced blood I would have been very much inclined to renounce it! I am cautious about these kinds of phenomenon. In fact, I waited for sixty-years to announce it publicly, and then only by God's directive.

Of all the people I have met or known of allegedly bearing Stigmata, they actually appeared to have Site Bleeding. None appeared to bear a true scar, and all merely produced a red substance resembling blood from the areas of their bodies corresponding to Jesus' wounds. Also, I know of no so-called Stigmata case to have ever represented the massive wound Jesus bore in His back. Perhaps there have been some for which I am unaware. But I would caution anyone to be very discerning about any phenomenon produing blood. Again, there is only one source of blood acceptable to me and His name is Jesus.

Let me be clear, I am not inferring anything pejorative about the aforementioned experiences. However, I'm not sure the experiences, as they have been described or presented, can be supported by scripture. It is essential that we not accept any teaching, or experience that conflicts with, or contradicts vindicated interpretation and application of scripture.

In these last days we must be extremely cautious of those bearing supernatural signs that are antagonistic to scripture. But it is equally important that we be sure we are right before assigning any sign, experience, or miracle to Beelzebub. Assigning something that is from God to be from Beelzebub is "blasphemy of the Holy Spirit". That can get you into more trouble than you can ever get out of.

Contrary to what many expository bible teachers claim today, "blasphemy of the Holy Spirit" is an offense that can be committed during the Church Age, and by believers in the Lord Jesus Christ! But that's a subject for another study.

We know the Bible speaks of signs like the Pillar of Fire, the Pillar of Cloud, the Smoke of His Glory filling the room, blinding bright light overshadowing one, His glory enveloping people, signs in one's hands, translating Spirit-filled people from one place to another, the Thorn in the Flesh, His audible voice speaking from heaven, and being caught away into His Shekinah. You can bet I have filtered every sign, experience, and miracle through a screen of the strictest scrutiny. That is one of the resaons I waited for several decades to make these signs public. It's been said of me that anything related to my Lord Jesus Christ, I examine with a magnifying glass.

The Catholic Church has compiled the most exhaustive record of those documented to have borne Stigmata during the church age. However, I don't believe they make a distinction between Stigmata and Site Bleeding. A few years ago I actually considered writing Pope John Paul for assistance in further historical research, and documenting mine. But procrastination prevailed, and I never wrote him. According to my findings from sources within the Catholic Church, there have been no more than two-to-three hundred of us, documented to bear the Stigmata of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout church history. That's a small group of souls.

This “Mark” was not given to celebritize me, but to announce affirmatively to the entire seen and unseen worlds (church leaders, angels, and demons included) that I am the property of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will vindicate, protect, and defend His property; and boy does He!

Why I did not Share the Supernatural Signs, Photos, and Experiences

Thirty-two years ago

Sometimes people ask me, “why didn't you share these photos, and tell the people about these supernatural signs and experiences when you first came here? The obvious inference is that it would have enhanced my ministry here. That is probably correct. Had I exploited the sacred gifts, experiences, and signs God has given me, I probably could have avoided those 32-years of poverty, shame, and humiliation. But at what cost?

He did not give them to me to be merchandised. I should not be forced to choose between exploiting holy gifts, and poverty. No one should have to defile sacred things to get the church to do the right thing! What's the difference in that and prostitution?

God did not tell me I was allowed to make these things public, until recently. For me, it is better to be in obedience and endure the abject poverty, than to deliberately go out of His will in order to prosper. I can honestly say, there were times I thought of giving up; but never once was I tempted to exploit the signs, experiences, and photographs. Perhaps the following two part explanation will help.

First of all, the signs were for me, not for them. The “Burning Bush” was for Moses, not for Israel. Moses' “Hand” becoming leprous then being healed, Moses' “Rod” becoming a snake and again becoming a rod, and pouring water on the ground and it turning into "Blood", each were initially for Moses, not for Israel. Moses revealed these things to Israel much later, during the "Wilderness Experience". But they were initially given to Moses to help him believe enough to accept his commission from God; and to withstand when satan would test his faith to the extreme. Until recently, I was not given permission to share these experiences publicly.

Secondly, before I came here, the Lord gave me instructions on how I would know who has His Holy Spirit in them. He had placed His Spirit in me and confirmed that with supernatural signs. He did that for me, to confirm these things to me and in me. It was not for them, at that time.

He assured me that if they have His Holy Spirit in them, that Spirit will recognize who I am by the Spirit He placed in me. His Spirit will not repel His Spirit.

Those who know how the spirit operates understand what I'm saying here. This was demonstrated in Brother Branham's ministry, every time he ministered in the Spirit.

The Lord showed me if they repel me, never accept me, reject me, shun me, never allow me to get close, push me away, or any of those kinds of conduct, then His Holy Spirit is not in them; regardless of what they may claim, feel, or do.

That's another spirit in them that hates the Spirit He placed in me.

So that is how I'll know who they are, by how they respond to me; not by how they respond to seeing Him manifest supernatural signs through me. There's always a multitude ready to follow after the fishes and loaves. As throughout scripture, the signs were to be shown to the elect, in the wilderness.

Now I can just hear some critic arise, citing for example Paul's bitter dissension with Barnabas over Mark. I would say to Mr. or Mrs. Critic, remember in your current role that's all you are, is a critic. Contrary to what you may believe, the Holy Spirit did not prompt you with your criticism. He knows the truth. He's the One who revealed this to me. He's the One who confirmed it countless times with signs. Had “...the Spirit of Truth come....” to prompt you, that would have been to “ you into all truth....” My recommendation is to first get deliverance from all evils spirits, then seek the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and then ask “...the Comforter....”, and “...He will teach you all things....”

A few months after we moved here, the Lord gave me Ezekiel 33:30-33 as a pattern of what was to come. All these years later, He has vindicated me unquestionably as His servant, and as one of His prophets, just as promised. Over these three-plus decades, those verses He gave me in Ezekiel have unfolded like a blossom opens in spring. And just as that passage states, they “heard my words”, but would not do them; they made a “show of love”, but chased after covetousness; and I was to them as a “ of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument....” And just as He promised me, “...when this cometh to pass, (lo it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them....” As they always have, those things I have prophesied over this place, and these people, will come to pass. Woe unto them who have not repented in that day!

The purpose for sharing these supernatural signs and experiences is not to boast, but to testify of Him! These signs and experiences are not to celebritize me, but to magnify Him! He gave them, and continues to give them, to vindicate me as His servant. Further, it is to show yet another reason why I am willing to repeatedly follow Him into the lion's den; and why I've been willing to endure the decades of extreme adversity, abject poverty, insults, humiliation, and public shame. I love Him!

Sixty years ago, He revealed Himself to me by His power and marked me as "His Property" with "His Stigmata". Forty years ago, He revealed Himself to me by snatching me away ("Caught Away") and engulfing me into His glorious Shekinah Presence, and similar to the Mount of Transfiguration account. Twenty years ago, He gave me a conditional promise of my full ministry and confirmed it by the "Hands of Fire" sign, which remains to this day. He has made me know experientially that ALL power and authority is in Him; and that nothing and no one can stand in His presence; no demon, no principality, no angel, no disease, no military force, nor satan, and not even death can stand against Him! Everyone and everything is subject to Him! He’s been with me, even in me all my life! He has always delivered me! I am His property! He defends me extravagantly! Woe unto me if I preach not the gospel....
